Can I have DS or RNY after Molina band (1988) removal?

I had WLS in 1988. I had the Molina band. I lost around 100# and kept it off pretty much. I had to have it removed in March 2010 and the doctor was supposed to do a VSG. Unfortunately, my stomach had hardened due to restriction but the doctor said in six months to a year I could consider RNY. I have moved to Alabama and have contacted a bariatric specialists and I am being told that this cannot be done. Anyone have the Molina band and had a successful DS or RNY?
