Has any one heard of the ring used in RNY patients?

I have heard that some doctors put a ring just over the stomach on the RNY patients so their pouch does not stretch out over time and prevents over eating. I have asked this question before but no one seems to know what I am talking about. Has anyone out there heard of the ring?
