How long does the gas and weird bowel movements last?

I am six weeks out and still passing tons of gas; is this normal? How long does it last? Just started being able to eat a little without it hurting my stomach. Up until yesterday even one bite seemed to hurt my stomach. Still having frequent very small bowel movements that are just little spatters. Is this normal? Sorry; I am overwhelmed.
