Has any ones wls Dr. told you to drink Gatorade before wls?

I am 26 days away from my lap wls? This week end is my last days of eating the way I do! I am going to try to lose 10lbs before wls. I hear if I lose weight before wls it shrinks the liver and makes the surgery easier. Someone told me their surgen told them to drink Gatorade before her wls and it would help shrink the liver! Anyone else heard that? How much gatorade. I think fruit puch was bitter, and made my lips pucker, maybe thats why it also puckers up the liver?? Lemon - lime I like! I bought 16 bottles of 20 oz. each. How many a day?
