Anyone With Less than 70 lbs to Lose Had Surgery

I am very short 4'8" with type 2 diabetes and have less than 70 lbs to lose; bmi is 38. My father recently died from complications from diabetes and I have been unsucessful in losing weight on my own. I qualify for the surgery and am in the process; tentative date of August 2008. I want to know if anyone else has had RNY surgery with less than 70 lbs to lose. How long did it take to lose the weight? How much did you lose a month? I am wondering if it will come off so fast that I will have issues or is the weight loss percentage wise?
