Anyone have an infection pre-op and still had surgery??????

I have been sick going on 2 weeks I was put on Amoxicillin finished that and still sick so I went back and was told I have an infection in my throat and was put on Clindamycin this med has lots of side affects possibly affecting the intestines and can occur weeks after treatment. Is any familiar with this medication and should I be worried surgery is scheduled for 6/30 just started Clindamycin today 6/19 Help is it gonna be cancelled.
