Reconstructive Surgery?
Is there anyone out there that had to do a reconstructive surgery? I had an RNY nearly a year ago October 15th marks one year! Having this done has made a big difference in my life for the better. Hoever I've done well up until around my 3rd month, since then I've been running into problems holding down my foods as well as liquids. I've had several structure dilations 7 to be exact the last two using steroids to help keep the hole open. However since the last dilation which my doctor's and I surly thought it would work failed. With that said and done between my surgeon's and myself we've decided to go ahead and reconstruct the surgery again. What spooky is that my doctor said she may not be able to do it the same way with the incision although she would attempt to do so, but made me understand that she may have to cut through my stomach! I'm not afraid and she explained pretty much everything to me, but boy last night I had some really spooky dreams. I dreamed that my surgeon had taken out the my little pouch and replaced it with my old stomach and I started picking up my weight very fast! Please tell me this isn't so! Wednesday the 17th I'll have to do a pre-ops again very much the same thing I did the first time. I'll also be able to ask her more questions which I'm sure I'll have. But if you've ever had to have a reconstructive surgery I'd like to hear from you, how long did you have to stay in the hospital, how long was your surgery (I know I'll find that out on Wednesday but I wanted to know to prepare myself). How long were you out of work but most importantly I'd like to know did you feel after the surgery. I'm scheduled to redo my surgery on the 22nd of this month. I have no regrets what so ever and would do it again in a heart beat minus the problems I've had. Your comments would be most appreciated. Mahalo....
