Will this delay my surgery?

I found out yesterday after my PCP did an EKG, that I have frequent PVC (Premature Ventricular Contractions.) She said that my heart beat is off-rythm every 3rd beat. It's not often but when it does I happen it's off a little bit. She didn't seem concerned at all. I thought she might send me to a cardiologist or something, but she just gave me a copy of the ekg and my bill and told me to make sure my surgeon is aware of it before my surgery. Now I am scared and I've called my surgeon's office to see what he thinks. Has anyone else experienced this and what do you have to do?
