Over 7 Years Out and NOW GAINING!
I had open RNY gastric bypass back in 2002. I am almost 7 years out. I lost all my weight within 18 months down to my goal. I have had two children since then (now ages 6,4) and everything has been smooth sailing. I have been eating approx. 900-1200 calories a day (depending) and about 90-100 grams of protein a day. I have been doing this for years with good success. However, this past year of 2009...I began gaining. I have gained over 40 pounds just last year. I can't understand why! I HONESTLY haven't changed a thing and have actually increased my exercising the past couple weeks (2- 30 min brisk walks per day) I have only taken off two pounds in a month doing this. I am not on any medication or really doing anything different! Why does my body seem to want to get FAT again?? HELP ME!! I am honestly too embarrased to talk to my surgeon about this....They're gonna think it is my fault somehow. The only recourse I have is that I have lost and maintained my loss for over 6 years! What should I do?
