Head/Chest Cold-Should I call the Doc?

I am scheduled to have surgery on jan.4 I have a head and chest cold..should i call the doc? will my surgery be postponed? I would hate to show up the morning of surgery sick. I am feeling just fine..just lots of drainage. have any of you had a head/chest cold and had to postpone surgery?
