Did everyone who had RNY have to do a prep like for you do for colonoscopy?

I am scheduled for RNY sugery on 2/19... a friend of mine just mentioned that she had to do a prep the night before like you would for a colonoscopy... so far I have not heard this from anyone else. Who has had to do this?
