why is it that some people are in surgery so long

i was looking at so of the post and so are in surgery 4to 10hrs. that seem so long my doctor said no long than 2hrs.total i pray i am not in there any longer tell me the time if nothing more than high blood pressure and just being 130pds.overweight i know you can read the doctor's mind but tell me some thing good my surgery is soon
