Eating after surgery

I had surgery on the 10th of November 2009. Will it be okay to eat a tablespoon of dresing pureed in broth Or just wait until I have my 1st fill in on December 15, 2009 befor trying to eat that type of food? sINCE SURGERY i HAVE JUST BEING DOING LIQUIDS ONLY STILL?
