I have had rny lap 11 months ago and have developed a hernia

The hernia is right above the large incision where the stomach is. My question is if I decide not to take care of this can I have problems. I do not have much pain but it is hard for met to sleep on that side. The lump sticks out and is a little bigger than a gof ball. I developed this hernia at about 8 months ago
