Has anyone had to buy smaller shoes after surgery?

Obviously everyone has to buy smaller clothes after surgery but has anyone had to buy smaller shoes. I have heard some say your feet get smaller and others say your feet just get thinner so you may no longer need a wide width for example. Anyone experienced this post op?
