What do I do my insurance co. doesn't want to pay after I had surgery. Help!

What do I do, my insurance co. told my dr. office that I did not need a pre-auth in order to have surgery so therefore the Dr.'s office calls me saying that I was approved. I had surgery and when my dr. office submitted the claim they denied it. So when I tried to appeal they would not come to the phone they put me on hold and left me there. So, I called my husbands employer and they called BCBS they even gave her the run around. So, she called her acct. executive and his asst. claimed I did not need to file an appeal that all I had to do is wait it is not denied and that they would send it before the medical review board. Should I trust these people because before I had surgery my husband employers claimed what they did not pay send to them and they would see what they could do because they suppose to pick up where BCBS lays off according to my book you see they think I'm a fool (not so). You see she is pretending that she is on my side and that she want to be kept up on everything including conversations and payments she also claimed she told them that either them or my dr. office would be stuck with this bill and not me. But in reality she is trying to play me and keep my husbands union from having to foot the bill She even been given info that was sent to the insurance co. from my dr and I don't have this info she told me she got it from my dr. office. My dr. office does not know that I have them as back up insurance and she is trying to hide her hand what should I do. She says there is someone new on this claim should I get their info and try and contact them myself? Should I tell my dr. office what I belive is going on.
