Should one bring clothing with them to the hsopital?

I've read about bringing PJ's or a robe, or a pair of sweats, but should we bring changes of clothing? Don't we have to wear the hospital gown while in the hospital? I don't have a robe, and don't want to buy one, is that a smart move, or should I buy one? I can bring a pair of old black velvet sweatpants to wear under the gown, but, I wasn't planning on bringing much else. Are we able to wear underwear after surgery? how about a bra? I forgot to ask all of these questions. Thanks for your help. YOu guys never fail me-too bad not every one is as good as you are. : ) Meghan
