What happens when you have invalid MMPI-2 results???
I went today for the psychological testing. The psychologist that reviewed my results said that per the test my life appeared to be perfect...so I had to take a 2nd test. After reviewing the results the psychologist stated I had a controling personality, I do things my way or no way and my chances of being successful with WLS is "low". Here is what I want to know...why is it a bad thing to have a pretty good life except for being overweight? If you asked my friends and family I am the happiest most joyful person they know and I am also very confident. I am at a place in my life that I feel like I have a great life. My marriage is strong, financially doing well, I have a great support system around me and am a well rounded individual...no pun intended! Now granted a few years back when my mom passed away I went into a deep depression and with the help of therapy and meds I live a depression free life. Where does it say that just because you are overweight you cannot be a happy, confident woman??? I am concerned that the psycholgist may not agree based on MMPI test results that I will follow the process and be successful however I feel very strongly that I am ready for this lifestyle change. The weight loss surgery isn't going to make me a happier person...it is meant to make me a healthier person. Has anyone else disagreed with the MMPI test results? Will they still accept me for surgery or will I now be turned down for being a happy person???
