When is it safe to go Skydiving?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows how long after surgery you need to wait before you can go sky diving? I am having revision surgery on 7/30 (I am getting a band above my RNY bypass). I asked my surgeon and at first he said 3 months, then he said 6 months, then he said to wait until next summer. So, I was just curious if anyone else has gone skydiving post-op and at what point they were able to do it? Thanks a bunch!!
