Gatstroplasty done in 1983, will the adjustable lap band work for me?

I HAD TO BE REVERSED IN 1990 BECAUSE THE GASTROPLASTY CLOSED UP MY STOMACH AND WOULDN'T LET ANYTHING TO DOWN..SO I HOPE I DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM HAVING THE LAP BAND DONE. ANYONE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION?
