What can you take for a cold 4mths gb and miserable?

I had gb 4mths ago (April 30th subtotal gastectomy with rny reconstruction) have had what I thought was allergies for a few weeks. My surgeon said take melt away claritan tabs. They are really helping. I am still miserable what else can I take? I think I have more of a cold.I have a Dr's appointment tommorrow.
