i only lost 53 lbs. after surgery, it's like i never had the surgery what went wrong?

i went into surgery weighing 316.5 and lost 53 lbs. and then it was like i could eat a full meal. i never felt full or pressure. of course i have regained that original loss and more. can i get it done again? what went wrong? any ideas?
