I am having Surgery right after X-mas ????

I am having surgery on December 31st, so its good time for me to ask for gifts that I will beable to use post-op. What kinds of things should I definately have? I think I should get a food chopper? Ice shaver? Also, what kinds of things should I have bought ahead of time as far as food? I need any and all advice. Thanks Kristie
