Anyone heard of lap band done after failure of rny?

Hi I had surgery in 2002. Lost about 80 lbs. and needed to lose about 100 more. Stopped losing, could always eat more than norma. Gained weight back, had x rays and endoscopy done but wasn't really told anything definitive. Dr. Miles said that studies had shown that people with a pouch size of up to 9 oz could still lose weight but didn't say that mine was that large. I called his office to ask about maybe having lap band to get my pouch to a smaller size, but the lady who answered the phone said no, that they don't do lap band after rny because the stomach couldn't tolerate it. Does anybody know why? Since then, I've talked to some people who have had this recommendation from their surgeon. I'm confused and feel like a failure, a really big one.
