Hurts when I drink and swallow

Since I have had the surgery on April 13,2001 I have had trouble swallowing water or other liquids. I can only take about a dropper size drink and some times that will hurt. If I take any bigger drink it will hurt and sometimes come back up. It worrys me because I don't think I am getting the correct amount of water I am to be drinking because of the problem. It is killing me because I want to take a big drink of a ice cold cup of water. Has anyone else had this problem.
