surgery time length after pysc. visit

I am on Illinois Public Aid and had my first visit with the surgeon in Peoria, Il. In Feb.06 I saw the pysc. How long is it usually before there is a surgery date. The pysc. has set another appointment for me in Aug. 06. I will be 60 soon.
