Has Anyone had to coordinate Insur. and self pay for RNY and Hernia?

I have a hernia that needs to be repaired. This can be done at the time I have RNY. My insurance want cover RNY but I certainly don't want to have two seperate surgeries. What are my leal right here? HELP!
