Swelling and pain length

I am 'post-op' open RNY nearly two years ago--down 175lbs 6' tall and now weigh 165lbs. I had a 5" incisional hernia repaired and excess skin removed (about three pounds which amounted to nearly two inches off my waist even with the swelling) nearly three weeks ago and was wondering how long the swelling takes to go away and how long people having had these procedure(s) had to wear the binder? I am just using Tylenol for pain now and have been excercising (primarily biking). I had my binder off for a half day today and it hurt like the dickens. Needless to say, I am once again wearing it and feeling more comfortable. Any replies are welcome. Regards, Mark B
