Did anyone NOT get an approval letter?

I was told by my surgeon's office that they got approval by calling BCBS. I called BCBS and was told that I would get an approval letter, then was told (in another call) that there would be no letter. I went for pre-op testing last week and the financial counselor asked if I got an approval letter in the mail. I told her no and she said it should be no problem because she remembers them approving over the phone. My surgery is next week. Should I be concerned? Wondering if any of you had surgery but never got a written approval in the mail. Thanks!
