Do you lose recently gained weight faster?

This may seem like a silly question, but I recently gained about 45lbs since being unemployed since January 2001, I went from 250 to 295(all I do is eat), since I will be having my surgery in June 2001, will I loose this excess weight right away since I gained it so fast.
