Pre-op physical

I've always had a problem with my blood pressure being slightly elevated, but when I went today for my pre-op physical, my blood pressure was up 145/102 she thought that maybe it was the stress of getting ready for all that's taking place next week, so she put me on a low dose of blood pressure medication,and Xanax to relax me, has anyone else ever went through the elevated BP right befor surgury?
