LIQUID DIET 10 DAYS BEFORE SURGERY?

My surgeon requires liquid diet 10 days before surgery. I'm having Lap RNY May 29th. I've never seen anyone else post such a long liquid diet before surgery. If I could go that long without food I wouldn't need this surgery.
