Should I seak other insurance on my own?

I called BCBS of OK today, and was told that the gastric bypass is not covered by my insurance. She said it's not a medical issue, it's just not covered, so appealing is allowed but will most likely do no good. Should I look into getting a different type of insurance for myself? Our BCBS is through my husbands work, at Bar-S Foods, and I am a stay at home mom. Is that possible, for me to get insurance just for me, and then to file for the gastric bypass under it? If so, what insurance should I check into? I have heard some good things about Aetna, from here, and even some about BCBS. The lady said it's not covered through the plan my husbands work has, so can I get a different plan from them, BCBS, that will cover it, or are they 'on to me' now. I am so lost. I was so excited, and making plans, and now I am just heart broken. Please, help. Thank you, Andura
