Has anyone had a significant other who wanted to stay at the hospital with them

after they have the surgery? He wants to have a cot put in my room and stay there with me the entire time I am in the hospital...He is going to take a 2 weeks off from work so he can take care of me..Will hospitals let him do this, has anyone ever had their spouse or significant other spend the night with them. I will be staying at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia...Any answers would be greatly appreciated
