4 weeks post op...Stomach always feels empty

I am 4 weeks post op and my doctor has said I can eat pretty much anything I can handle. For some reason though,my stomach always feels empty like I'm hungry...Is this just mental? People I've talked to say they never felt hungry at this point but I can eat something and a half hour later I start getting the empty feeling,even if I have lots of protein. Is this normal??
