Just an Eating Reminder to New AND Experienced Post-ops
I am now 8 months post-op. Yesterday, for the first time in my post-op journey, I experienced food getting stuck. I was in a hurry, eating too fast, and did not chew the chicken carefully, though it was moist. For nearly 4 hours, I was miserable. Couldn't get it to come up or go down.

So, I logged on to AMOS to search for advice. I decided the meat tenderizer with warm water was too controversial, so I tried sipping hot tea, which was recommended by AMOS member George. Within 15 minutes, I was able to dislodge the chicken and get it up. Great advice that worked quickly and safely.

The moral of the story is that we need to be just as diligent at 8 months post-op as we are at 8 weeks post-op. A real eye opener for me in a lot of ways - returning to a high protein low carb diet with regular exercise tomorrow (just like I did at 8 weeks post-op). The passage of time cannot allow us to revert to any old habits. Especially if we expect success. I hope I'm listening to my own advice...I better practice what I preach!
