Anybody ever have bilious colic -- should I be worried?

While I was on vacation in Italy, I had a horrible pain in my right side near my kidneys, it hurt to move, I alternated sweating, having a fever, and dry heaves. The doctor (who spoke no english -- we had to have an Italian friend who spoke English translate) said it was bilious colic. Any doctors out there that can tell me if I need to worry? I will definitely tell my Dr. about it, but want to know what it is, etc in the meantime. Thanks in advance for your help! Stephanie in Alabama
