Am I doing any good?

I was wondering if I'm doing any good by my workouts. By that I mean I have been swimming (slowly) three times a week for about an hour straight. I also have been walking everyday. Is the swimming doing me any good for weight loss? And....when I walk, how come 15 minutes into my walking on a treadmill I feel weak like I wont be able to finish? I'm 6 weeks post-op. Thanks!!!!!!
