Allergic Reaction to Internal Sutures??

I had breast reduction surgery on 8/16. I love the way I look but am having lots of redness and soreness in the tissue above the incisions at the base of my breasts. My incisions are completely healed and look great. At first my surgeon thought it was a bacterial infection; however, after six weeks of antibiotics he and a colleague have determined that it's quite possibly an allergic reaction to the internal sutures. Have any of you experienced this? If so, can you tell me what you've done or have you just waited it out until the sutures have dissolved? Thanks so much for your response.
