Why do people take off 3-4 weeks before returning to work?
I've read about people taking 3-4 weeks off after surgery before they return to work. Sure, I can understand those who work in construction or other physically-intense activities; they certainly shouldn't be doing extrenous work after a major surgery. But what about people who work in an office and sit in front of computers 8 hours a day? Why can't they return to work after 1-2 weeks? Is it the pain after surgery? The inability to drive? The weakness and fatigue from the operation? Please shed some light so I can better understand the need to take time off. Thank you for your help!
