Any one experience a weight gain that you know is not attributed to improper diet?

I am 7 mos out and have been steadily losing weight (no real plateaus thus far). However, my weight loss does follow a pattern: substantial loss (5 or so pounds) after my period and then a pound or two each week after until the week of my period when I might stay the same or go up a pound or two. At the beginning of month 7, I had lost 10 lbs by my scale (total loss 86 lbs), then all of the sudden I was up 8 lbs. I thought maybe my scales had gone haywire, so I went to the doc's to weigh, and, sure enough - I only lost 2 lbs last month. I know it is not "true gain." I would've had to eat 28,000 more calories than my body processed, and that just isn't happening. I haven't really had the temptation to "cheat" (no sugar AT ALL) - I've followed the program: water, protein, exercise - the only carbs I take in are from veggies, a couple of melba toast rounds or I occasionally eat half a protein bar (I don't do fruit - it hurts my stomach). I'm trying to severely reduce even those carbs to see if it has an effect and restarts the loss. I know I'm not done losing, but I guess I just want reassurance from someone else who might've had a similar experience. Anyone else experience this?
