Is it ok to use hydrocodone pre-op?

My surgery is 2/23. Right now I am having terrible menstrual cramps and can't take Ibuprofen this close to surgery. Tylenol is totally ineffective for me. I have some left over hydrocodone from dental surgery and was wondering if anyone here knew if this was ok to take. I can't ask my Dr. or surgeon as they are both out of the office right now. Please if anybody knows for sure respond as soon as possible as I am really in a lot of pain. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks!
