New requirement what does this mean?

i just had my surgery rescheduled from 2003 to Feb. of this year (doctor had a family emergency. Well United Health Care has a new requirement that I have to have a year of diet modification to qualify. I am so irritated that I can't talk without my bottom lip shaking so I decided to type to all of you. Does anyone know what I have to do to make this happen it doesn't seem to be working for me there is always something in the way of me starting my new like.
