Scalp Itching- Does anybody have any thoughts about what is causing it?

I am a little over 2 months post-op. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed small bumps on my scalp (that have spread) and itch like the dickens. I have not changes hair care products. I eat a minimum of 64 oz of protein a day, drink more than 64 oz of water and take all the vitamins required as well as biotin. My first thought was an allergic reaction, took benedryl but it did not help. Have an appointment with the Dermatologist next week but just curious if others have had this problem and what the cause might be. I have never had this problem before.
