Do you ever have pouch pain when eating/drinking?
I am about 5 1/2 months out from an open RNY with gallbladder removal. For the last month or so, I have been having intermittent pain in my pouch, which is made worse by eating or drinking. Whenever I swallow water or food, it goes down fine for a moment, but once it hits my stomach it feels like it has to get past a gas bubble or some other obstacle and it hurts. After it settles into my pouch, the pain stops. But then when I swallow another bite the same thing happens. I've been on Prilosec once daily since surgery to prevent ulcers (I have a history) and right after surgery my doctor had me on them 2 times a day. Since going to 1 dosage a day, I seem to be having problems. My gallbladder is gone, I am not vomiting, have no other problems, just the pain when something enters my pouch. What might be going on??
