Any problems with Masshealth and/or Medicare Insurance?

Hi everyone- My friend heard something that upset her today. Someone in the medical field told her that after you complete all your pre-op testing and the surgeon's office submits your paperwork for approval, Masshealth and Medicare then take ANOTHER 2 or 3 years to approve the surgery! If anyone has any experience with Masshealth or Medicare, please let me know. Did you have to wait 2-3 years for an answer? Feel free to e mail me privately if you wish.
