OK to get steroid injections in neck?

I know that NSAID's orally are not allowed post-op but what's the consensus on anti-inflammatory injections? I'm having severe neck pain that is disc related and just came back from seeing the neurosurgeon. She recommended and wrote a scrip for the injections. I will contact my bariatric doctor to see what he says but I'm always comforted by all the posties here that have been through this. Please let me know your experiences / opinions. Vicki
