Can a large hernia cause violent diarrhea?

I have a very large incisional hernia that will be repaired once my weight has stabilized (9 months post op). The first 6 months post op (open RNY) I had no major bowel problems except the normal post op constipation.....for the last 3 months ever 2 or 3 days I get violent diarrhea once a day, and then I am fine, no pains or stomach ache.....does this somehow relate to the hernia?? Anyone else who cannot find an explaination for their diarrhea ( I can't be certain of the time frame of when I got the hernia)Thanks
