Changing my employers policy

I work for a big law firm who's insurance (both PPO and HMO) have exclusions for "obesity (including morbid obesity)". I am thinking about going to the Benefits Dept. to see if we can get the exclusion changed. I think it would be better coming from a group of employees rather than just one. Changing jobs for me is not an option (I love my job and would never leave it!). Anyone have any suggestions on how to approach other employees to see if they would be interested in joining the "group"? I don't want to hurt anyones feelings.....
