Will my calves ever be normal?

I am preop, surgery is July 1. I'm 5'2" and 265#. My weight is evenly distributed all over. I was wondering if anyone has lost a lot of inches in their calves. My calves are approximately 21" around and they absolutely disgust me. I will not wear shorts or dresses and wonder if I will be able to after surgery.
